Remote K’gari Fraser Island

Experience the untouched remote west coast of World Heritage listed K’gari- Fraser Island and be one of the few to explore parts of the island only the locals know about. Wreck Diving Ex-HMAS Tobruk

The Ex-HMAS Tobruk rests on the seabed in an area just north of Hervey Bay. She came to rest on her starboard side and does not disappoint as Australia best dive wreck. The dive depth ranges from 12 to 30 metres with plenty for open water and advanced divers to feel comfortable and challenged.  Divers can explore the ship and her surrounds to encounter a bounty of fascinating marine life. Skippered Charters

Join a private day charter in the waters between Hervey Bay and Fraser Island for a full skippered boating experience. Locations travelled include Round Island, Big Woody Island lighthouse and Pelican Bank and views of Fraser Island.

Reef Snorkelling at Lady Elliot Island

Lady Elliot Island is a coral cay located at the southern tip of the World Heritage listed Great Barrier Reef. Hervey Boat Fly and Sportfishing operates in one of the most unique fisheries on Australia’s east coast and is a Tourism Australia Great Fishing Signature Experience.  The sheltered waters of Fraser Island are one of the few places in Australia that has an overlap of southern and northern fish species. Owned and operated by Andrew Chorley, tours target the diverse range of species in the Fraser Coast waterways using many different techniques. First nation Tours

Glass bottom boat The Milbi navigates the beauty of the Great Sandy Strait Marine Park, before reaching a small island where visitors are offered a warm Welcome to Country from a local First Nations Butchulla guide. Swim or snorkel in crystal clear waters, play beach cricket or relax on the island’s sandy beaches. A chance to learn about the Butchulla  culture with a local Indigenous guide.

Whale watching (in season)

Hervey Bay is a stopover site for humpback whales, a place whales choose to stop, stay and play during the cooler months of their annual winter migration. Famous for up-close encounters, Hervey Bay was named the world’s first whale heritage in 2019 by the World Cetacean Alliance. Join a dedicated whale fleet operator for a first-hand experience during the whale watching season from July to October
