About Half Day Whale Watching Encounter – Tasman Venture
Hervey Bay is considered one of the best places to watch the whales migrate, and for good reason! Each year between July and October whales come and visit Hervey Bay, often staying a couple of days to rest, recharge and play.
Join our Tasman Venture whale-watching experts for an unforgettable close-up encounter with humpback whales. Watch in awe from our spacious viewing decks as these incredible giants breach, tail slap, and curiously approach the boat. Get even closer on our water-level platform, to give you plenty of vantage points. Our fast catamaran gets you to the action quickly, giving you more time with the whales in their natural playground along the remote western side of World Heritage-listed K’gari.
Our half-day tours have morning and afternoon departures, ready to take you on an adventure you won’t forget anytime soon.

Vessel Access & Amenities:
- Access to the marina and vessel is via a ramp.
- The main lower deck and air-conditioned saloon are accessible without stairs.
- Comfortable seating is available throughout the vessel.
- Toilet facilities are located on the main deck.
- While toilets are accessible via the main deck, they are not fully wheelchair accessible and may require assistance from a companion or support person.
- Access to the bow (front viewing deck) and upper viewing decks requires navigating several steps.
- Hazard markers and safety signage are positioned throughout the vessel to assist with visibility and safe movement.
- Our crew are available to provide reasonable assistance where possible.
