Introduction to Katazome (Rice Paste resist) & Indigo Dyeing – Hervey Bay

Learn the art of Katazome. Katazome is old school indigo dyeing. Katazome is a Japanese stencil dyeing technique. (“Kata” meaning “mold” and “zome” meaning “to dye”), using paste-resist process and stencils. Traditionally, it was often used to produce fabric for kimono.
