Fraser Island

Islands

The Fraser Coast is home to two World Heritage listed areas, in Fraser Island and two of the most stunning islands of the Great Barrier Reef.  Fraser Island is the largest sand in the world and a contradiction of well respected natural conventions.  It is home to untouched freshwater lakes and creeks, including some of the world's rarest dune lakes.  Wetlands, heath decorated with wildflowers and 1,000 year old rainforest require high rainfall and rich soil to thrive from nothing more than sand.

Both Lady Elliot Island and Lady Musgrave Island are renowned for having some of the best visibility, best reef and the largest abundance of marine life on the entire Great Barrier Reef.  Both are located on our doorstep, with Lady Elliot Island being accessible from the Fraser Coast by air, and Lady Musgrave Island accessible by boat from the town of 1770.
